There has been an estate at Neston for over 200 years and like many the land has it’s fair share of history, although obscured by 19th century landscaping the old Roman road from Bath to London passes through the estate as does part of Mid Wandsdyke.
After many generations of Fullers who have lived, developed and supported the local community it is now in the hands of James and Venetia.
Over years the Fullers have been involved in local businesses, Avon Rubber, setting up the co-operative farmers in Melksham, representing the area as local members of Parliament and stretching further afield to the well known Fuller’s Brewery in Chiswick – home of the world-famous London Pride. Strong links still remain between the family and the brewery.
In more recent times we have made the transition to organic farming and decided to take things a step further in the late 1990s when we became part of the Countryside Stewardship Scheme, with a programme of hedge planting and wildlife corridors. This has made a significant difference to the biodiversity on the Estate and we now have a healthy balance of species.
Today the Neston Estate is a vibrant working environment, we believe in going back to basics farming organically and creating an environment that will secure Neston well into the future.
